Increased precision helps doctors deliver more radiation to the target while sparing healthy tissue and decreasing treatment time for more focused, effective, and efficient therapy. From the patient’s perspective, Elekta VMAT significantly reduces treatment time and minimizes unnecessary radiation. From the doctor’s perspective, that reduction in treatment time means greatly improved accuracy in targeting the tumor and the flexibility to either increase the dose to the tumor or reduce side effects to potentially improve outcomes.
